چکیده

One of the agricultural commodities that has a high selling value and consumption level is shallot (Alium ascalonicum). However, productivity shallots known to be susceptible plant-destroying organisms, such as caterpillar (Spodoptera exigua). Currently, most farmers control S. exigua using synthetic insecticides. Synthetic insecticides are poisonous use for long time period will cause resistance pests environmental pollution. natural ingredients potential botanical insecticide papaya (Carica papaya). This study aimed determine effectiveness concentration n-hexane ethanolic extracts leaves which effective against toxicity inhibition feeding power second instar larvae. The extract was obtained by gradual maceration (non polar) ethanol (polar) solvents. Test secondary metabolite content Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). results showed in causing larvae with highest percentage 96.67%. Meanwhile, more inhibiting larval than lowest area 2,27 mm. 3%. LC50 0.0207% 0.0459%. Both contain compound groups, namely tannins, terpenoids, flavonoids, alkaloids.

Thin Layer Chromatographic Analysis and Antioxidant Activities of Methanol Extract of Leaves of Carica papaya L

Traditional plants contain various secondary metabolites such as alkaloids, terpenoids, steroids and phenolic compounds which have shown antioxidant activities that include scavenging free radical species and inhibiting the production of reactive species resulting from normal cell metabolism. The present study was undertaken to analyse the thin layer chromatography and antioxidant activities of...

Bioactivity of Carica papaya (Caricaceae) against Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae).

The composition of a chloroform seed extract of C. papaya was determined by GC-MS. Nineteen compounds were identified, with oleic (45.97%), palmitic (24.1%) and stearic (8.52%) acids being the main components. The insecticidal and insectistatic activities of the extract and the three main constituents were tested. Larval duration increased by 3.4 d and 2.5 d when the extract was used at 16,000 ...
